Open Door Health Center has an opening for a fulltime Dental Director.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Developing and overseeing the clinical aspects of the dental program, vision for growth,
    and sustainability.
  • Providing direct dental care to patients.
  • Mentoring staff Dentists, Dental therapists, and Dental students.
  • The supervision of Dentists, Dental Therapists, Dental Students, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Services Managers.


This position is part of the ODHC Executive Leadership Team and will also provide direct patient care.


Position Requirements:


The Dental Director must have a MN Dental Degree (DDS or DMD) in good standing with continuous dental education, experience supervision clinical staff, and experience practicing in a community health setting. The Dental Director manages the day-to-day clinical operations, delegates’ duties as necessary and determined, provides direct dental care to patients, precepts dental students during their rotation, and works collaboratively with other health care departments to ensure optimum patient health and patient care.


This position requires the candidate to have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience in goal setting and creating a vision for growth, the ability to work with technology and electronic health records, and experienced integrating with the field of medicine. Bilingual skills are a plus.


The Dental Director should have proven experience with creating programs and protocols including QI, radiation, infection control, OSHA. The Dental Director should demonstrate strong organizational and conflict management skills, the ability to prioritize and handle multiple demands, to identify and lead organizational change initiatives from planning through to successful implementation, and the ability to develop, lead and facilitate staff to achieve the goals of the organization.  He/She must have an understanding of financial budgets and facilitate spending within financial constraints and have the ability to work with technology and electronic health records.
